Alta Gracia's Living Wage Apparel, a marketing research presentation

What is Alta Gracia?
In conjunction with a team of interested faculty, staff, and students, DePaul’s Fair Trade Club has embarked on a year-long campaign to promote the Alta Gracia apparel company, a living wage factory in the Dominican Republic that makes collegiate apparel. You may have seen their rolled T-shirts in DePaul’s bookstore.

This quarter the Campaign for Alta Gracia team partnered with the DePaul Marketing Consulting Group (DMCG) to conduct preliminary market research on awareness of and preference for living wage apparel:

  • To what extent do people know, or care, that the shirts they purchase or wear were made by workers who make 300% of the legal minimum wage in the Dominican Republic?
  • Does this impact their decisions as consumers?

DMCG will present their research findings at this meeting on Thursday evening.

Stay Tuned
During the Winter and Spring quarters the Campaign for Alta Gracia will raise awareness and build support on campus, culminating on April 20, 2018 with a series of events focusing on apparel production—including a discussion with Alta Gracia workers. If you're not able to come on Thursday, we will record the session and send out through social media.

Stay tuned. You will hear a lot more about Alta Gracia in the future.
