BUILD Diversity Workshop: Exploring Economic Class at DePaul

In this workshop, we will examine how economics shapes the neighborhood that shapes us, creating differences in our understanding of life, relationships, and one another.

We invite you to share from your own experience as we explore together:

  • The role economics plays in the development of personal and societal norms and expectations.
  • The mental models based on economic class we unconsciously or consciously carry into our interactions with others in the workplace.
  • How we might use this information to create a more welcoming environment for faculty, staff, students and families at DePaul.

Presenters: Patricia Bombard, BVM, Director, Vincent on Leadership: The Hay Project; Sharon Kohli, Coordinator of Field Education, Department of Social Work
