Career Workshops: Musicians on Social Media: Social Media Management for Artists

The Career Services Workshop Series presents a virtual presentation and Q&A on social media management for artists with Leah Johns, mezzo-soprano.

This event is open to current School of Music students and alumni.

Leah Johns, mezzo-soprano, is a 2014 graduate from the BM Vocal Performance program at DePaul. Originally from North Carolina, Leah came to DePaul to study with acclaimed mezzo-soprano, Jane Bunnell.  She went on to complete a Masters of Music in Opera and Vocal Performance at McGill University in Montreal, Canada.

Named as "one to watch" by Le Devoir, Leah has performed many roles across the US and Canada including Zweite Dame (Die Zauberflöte), Laura (Iolanta), Elizabeth Proctor (The Crucible), Mum (Albert Herring) and Soeur Matilde (Dialogues des Carmélites).

In addition to performing, Leah is the founder of @OperaShenanigans, a social media platform which celebrates the silly side of opera and uses new wave media to help make opera more relatable to contemporary audiences.  She also works as a social media manager for Lenny's Studio, managing the social media accounts for some of the biggest names in opera and classical music.
