CDM India: Bollywood and Beyond Information Session

For three weeks this December, study India and its culture through the lens of film Students prepare for their Bollywood experience during the fall quarter in ‘Beyond Bollywood’ (undergraduates enroll in DC 370, graduates enroll in DC 470). Documentary techniques taught in the fall prepare students for the intensive cultural immersion and hands-on workshop during the December Intersession (undergraduates enroll in DC 396, graduates enroll in DC 496). Students collaborate with an NGO under the guidance of filmmakers from Whistling Woods International located in the heart of Bollywood. Students also create an original visual media project while traveling to see the Taj Mahal, the immense desert palaces and forts of Jaipur and the abandoned city of Fatehpur Sikri. This course fulfills the Experiential Learning credit. Prior filmmaking experience is welcome, but not required.
