Join us for a screening of Joe Chapelle and Colleen Griffen's first feature film made right here in Chicago in 1994. There will be an on-stage conversation following the film discussing how to turn a Chicago-made indie feature into a successful career in film and television.
Joe's credits include executive producer/director on CHICAGO FIRE, co-executive producer/director on THE WIRE, producer/director on CSI-MIAMI, and executive producer/director on FRINGE.
Colleen Griffen wrote, directed, and produced the mockumentary web series, boyband, which was acquired by Fullscreen and Audience Network in May of 2016. She also wrote and produced her feature directorial debut, The Cold and the Quiet in 2013, which won both Best Narrative and Best Direction at the Women’s Independent Film Festival in LA.
"Thieves Quartet," a kidnapping drama set in and around present-day Chicago, sets out with a vengeance to demystify the romance of the caper movie.
Among the four main characters who conspire to kidnap the daughter of a wealthy businessman, three are shabby losers without a trace of decency or loyalty, and the fourth is a well-meaning fool.
