Flores is a community activist, author, photographer, and a proud Chicago resident.. . . . This speaker series is a quarterly event where The Egan Office of Urban Education and Community Partnerships at DePaul University hosts conversations with community and movement builders, activists, and organizers in an effort to recognize the critical voices that give shape to The Chicago Mosaic. He has a track record of community & cultural activism in Chicago's Latino community that spans since the 1960s. Flores is one of the founders of the Puerto Rican Arts Alliance, the National Puerto Rican Cuatro Festival, the first Chicago Puerto Rican community chorus, the Chicago Afro-Latino Institute, and the Puerto Rican Tiple Construction Workshop.. . . . As a photographer and author, Mr. Flores has exhibited his photographs throughout Chicago, and his images have been published and featured in books, magazines, academic journals, and documentaries.. . . . Mr. Flores is one of the founders and currently serves as the Artistic Director of the Chicago Latin Jazz Festival.
