There will be two 45-minute workshops focused on identifying, understanding, coping with, and managing colorism. We will begin with the history of colorism and its roots in white supremacy ideology, then describe how it manifests in the African American, Latinx, and Indian communities. Facilitators will share their own experiences of colorism then discuss how BIPOC individuals can cope with this phenomenon. We will also discuss what steps allies can take to support BIPOC communities. This workshop is open to Students, Faculty, and Staff.
This workshop will take place on Zoom and you will need to log into Zoom with your CampusConnect credentials to enter.
