DePaul Concert Orchestra, Symphonic Choir and Community Chorus present "Carmina Burana"

Stephen Blackwelder, Eric Esparza and Michael Lewanski, conductors

Andrew Garland, David Portillo and Lauren Snouffer, soloists

Majesty and intimacy. A unified voice and the individual spirit. On this opening evening of Unveiled, both will be honored through music and ceremony. The performance begins with a resplendent energy in School of Music Dean Ronald Caltabiano’s world premiere brass fanfare, followed by the warmth of a’cappella choral music—each showcasing student performers and the acoustical range of the new Mary Patricia Gannon Concert Hall. But that same spectrum of enormity and modesty will be pushed further when renowned guest soloists Andrew Garland, David Portillo and Lauren Snouffer join together with the DePaul Concert Orchestra, Symphonic Choir and the Community Music Division's Community Chorus for a stunning presentation of Carl Orff’s 20th century masterpiece, Carmina Burana.
