Ilya Kaler and Friends

Renowned violinist, Ilya Kaler shares the stage with friends and collaborators in an evening of twentieth century works. Well known at the DePaul School of Music and around the world, Kaler has earned rave reviews for his solo appearances with such distinguished orchestras as the Leningrad, Moscow and Dresden Philharmonic, among others. On this night he is joined by clarinetist, Jonathan Cohler, whose recordings have received resounding accolades including those from the American Record Guide and BBC Music Magazine. The trio will be completed by pianist Rasa Vitkauskaite, winner of the Grand Prix at the Mendelssohn Cup Piano Competition. Together this group will perform Bartók’s Contrasts, Stravinsky’s Suite from L'Histoire du soldat and Schoenfield’s Trio for Clarinet, Violin and Piano.
