Mental Health First Aid Training for DePaul Students

Mental Health First Aid, an 8-hour course that teaches participants how to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing emotional distress. The training helps you identify, understand, and respond to signs of addictions and mental illnesses. It is also known as the CPR for mental health and teaches participants the ALGEE action plan to assist those in need. The course reviews various mental illnesses and provides context for how one can assist someone in those specific mental health crises, as well as offering participants activities to role play and develop their skills as a mental health first responder. All participants will receive a 3-year MHFA certification for completing the course. You must register to secure your spot! Lunch and snacks will be provided.
