Refugee Camps & Urbanization of Displacement

This lecture introduces students to the living conditions of Syrian refugees in Jordan, Lebanon, Greece, and Italy. Focusing on camps and neighbourhoods where Syrian refugees live in four different countries, we will look at how refugees fleeing Syria are housed in different contexts, how their lives are shaped by these living spaces, and what we can learn about hosting societies from the premises Syrian refugees have to call home.
