Scott Starrett: Branding for AOC

DePaul Design Talks welcomes Scott Starrett of Tandem Designs & designer of AOC's political campaign

About this Event

Branding for AOC: The Emerging Importance of Technology & Design in Democracy

Scott Starrett, Brand Advisor to Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC), talks to us about the conceptual process and practice of branding AOC and the role design thinking and strategic communications plays in our undoubtedly politicized future. Scott will examine some of the pointed questions that have arisen during the freshman congresswoman’s historic ascent to the forefront of American politics, including:

  • Is there a difference between arrogance and insight?
  • Do we follow precedent to our own detriment?
  • What’s the value in breaking the rules in politics?
  • How is the Post Office related to Twitter?
  • Can design save the world?

Join us for a visual presentation and Q&A discussion to follow.
