Play in the Dirt Workshop: Crimson Hexagon

Faculty and staff from across the university with an  interest in digital
humanities are invited to join us for an introduction to Crimson Hexagon — a sophisticated social media analytics platform that Communication is using in its iLab.

Crimson Hexagon is rooted in an algorithm that classifies social media content by identifying statistical patterns in words and images. The iLab folks use it to study digital news, political and corporate campaigns,
public relations, advertising, hashtag activism and other online
phenomena.

The workshop will be led by Hai Tran, an associate professor in
Communication who specializes in data journalism, communication
technology and related research methodologies.

Light refreshments will be served.
