TAP Test Bootcamp - Academic Success Center

This four-hour boot camp is designed to help students pass the Test of Academic Proficiency required for teacher certification. Covered will be Reading, Language Arts, Basic Math and TAP math content. Students may attend all or part of the day.

Reading: Reviews vocabulary, main idea, inference, interpretation, summarizing, and critical reasoning skills. (10:30am until 11:30am)

Language Arts: Reviews grammar, role of purpose and audience, editing and revising strategies, unity and organization in writing. (11:30am until 1:00pm)

Break: (1:00pm-1:15pm)

Basic Math: Reviews topics such as fractions, decimals, percentages, graphing and equations. It is a great warm-up to the TAP math content workshop. (1:15pm until 2:00pm)

TAP Math Content: reviews concepts and formulas needed for the TAP math section. Some concepts covered are geometry, probability, and problem- solving. Students will complete a review packet designed to emulate questions as seen on the test. (2:00pm until 3:00pm)
