The Art of Indigenous Inculturation

Traditionally, religious “inculturation” has referred to a strategy employed by Western missionaries to evangelize non-Western cultures. But what does this look like from the perspective of Third World postcolonial cultures? In his new book, Dr. Sison proposes “serendipity”—that epiphany of surprise and sagacity—to shed light on how peoples of Asia, Latin America, and Africa have found their own historical agency and creative genius while seeking religious synthesis.

Join us for what will be a lively and thought-provoking discussion!
