UChicago Healthcare Career Fair & Networking Event

Looking to learn more about career opportunities in healthcare? Join us to hear from alums and other leaders at top healthcare companies (startups to multinationals) and learn about the many opportunities and make connections. Appetizers and drinks included. Bring business cards.

What to expect?
Get ready for a “speed dating” format where you will learn about each individual company and the career
opportunities they possess. Come ready to eat, drink, and discover the possibilities in organizations of all
shapes and sizes. The parties involved range from start-ups to multinational companies and even nonprofits.

Why are networking events important?
Build meaningful relationships
Stay up-to-date on trends in the healthcare field
Meet the movers and shakers of the industry
Find a potential employer or mentor
Learn about the skills that companies find significant
Gain a sense of inspiration and motivation

Make sure you are prepared to present the best you possible. This means dressing the part and having your
elevator pitch prepared. It may also benefit you to bring copies of your resume as well as having a few
business cards on hand. UChicago students have many resources available to them such as discounted

Agenda:
5:30 - 6:00 pm - Check-in: eat, drink, socialize
6:00 - 6:15 pm - Welcome remarks from John Flavin, Zoe Hoeppler, Sam Volchenboum, and John Collins
6:15 - 7:30 pm - Speed dating with the companies: Each company will have a table at which they will present a brief summary to a small group of students. Students will rotate in order to hear from all participating organizations
7:30 - 8:00 pm - Networking

UChicago Master’s of Science in Biomedical Informatics Program is a part-time or full-time program that can be completed in 12-48 months. The Program is geared towards people looking to gain skills or deepen their capabilities in the intersection between Healthcare and Data. With the rapid growth of clinical information systems, networked healthcare platforms, high-throughput genomic technologies, and consumer and public health informatics, the demand for professionals with an understanding of Healthcare Informatics is growing exponentially.
