The School of Cinematic Arts partners with DePaul’s Division of Mission and Ministry to explore the current challenges facing the homeless population here in Chicago and around the country. After a screening of the documentary @home, directed by Susanne Suffredin, we will discuss long standing misperceptions around this chronic issue and the policy reform necessary for permanent solutions.
Advocacy experts Chuck Levesque from Depaul USA, and Kat Johnson from the Institute for Global Homelessness will share their experiences working with this often forgotten population. Panel moderated by Scott Kelly, Office of Mission and Values.
@home is a journey through the landscape of forgotten America—the invisible communities of people living without permanent housing. Listen to their stories and understand their simple but life-changing wishes: a home, a job, and the ability to help others.
Seating is limited, registering for eventbrite does not guarantee a seat.
