Please join DePaul University College of Law on Wednesday, April 25 for our 2018 Diversity Reception, celebrating the diversity and strength of our community.

The theme of this year’s Diversity Reception is Diversity: A Parable of Talents which seeks to celebrate the extraordinary range of talents represented by our diverse community, and the ways in which these talents have been used to enhance our society. The reception will feature a keynote address by DePaul College of Law alumna Carlina Tapia-Ruano. In addition to being a highly respected immigration law attorney at her law firm Tapia-Ruano & Gunn, Ms. Tapia-Ruano was the first Hispanic elected President of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and has testified before U.S. Congress about the USA PATRIOT Act. Ms. Tapia-Ruano is bilingual and shares a unique perspective as a U.S. citizen who immigrated to the United States from Cuba.

As part of the Diversity Reception, we will be awarding various scholarships to DePaul law students who have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment in utilizing their talents, while working within their communities, to build a diverse and inclusive society. The reception will begin at 4:30 p.m. and the keynote and scholarship presentation will begin at 5:30 p.m.
