https://dehub.depaul.edu/rsvp?id=384439Join the DePaul University Library for a premiere screening of A Long Way From Holmes, a feature-length documentary by DePaul Alumna Raja’Nee Redmond. This film follows a Chicagoan with questions about her Southern roots back to the south, finding some answers and even more questions about what our ancestors, and us, their descendants are owed, finding parallels all of these years later. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion between Raja’Nee and the cofounders of Kinkofa, an organization committed to bringing generations together to uncover, record, and preserve Black family stories with pride and dignity. Join us for fellowship and learn more about how to research your family history and ancestral inheritance.
