About this Event
Join the History of Art and Architecture Club as we recreate one of Monet's most famous garden paintings 'The Japanese Footbridge' (1899). We will discuss reactions to Monet and the Impressionist movement in Europe and America and why the Art Institute of Chicago has the largest collection of Impressionist works. . . . . We will highlight the American women (especially in Chicago) who promoted and collected Impressionist works and established the importance of the movement in the canon of Art History.. . . . Sign up for one of our 24 painting kits including 12 tubes of paint, brushes, and watercolor paper!
