The Public Interest Law Initiative (“PILI”) and DePaul University College of Law are partnering to host an Attorney & Student Legal Answers Pro Bono Clinic on Tuesday, October 22 from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm in honor of National Pro Bono Week (October 20th-26th). Volunteers will be trained on how to answer civil legal aid questions posted on PILI’s Free Legal Answers website by Illinois residents needing legal help and will work with students to help them research and draft responses. With a short supply of legal aid lawyers, lower income Illinois residents rely on pro bono attorneys to answer their legal questions.

How the Legal Answers Clinic Day will work:
Law students, College of Law staff and faculty, and lawyers will come together to answer genuine civil legal questions.
1) Students and non-attorneys research and draft an answer to civil legal questions posted on
Free Legal Answers.
2) Lawyers check for accuracy and readability; then submit the answer.

WHEN: Tuesday, October 22, 2024, from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
WHERE: North Cafe, DePaul Center. Heavy Snacks and Beverages Provided.
Register by October 21 to Elizabeth Boe, Director of PBCSI: eboe@depaul.edu
