2021 Bridging AI & UX Grant Student Showcase
VIRTUAL TALK + PRESENTATIONS
The Bridging AI & UX Grant invited DePaul University College of Computing and Digital Media students to propose cutting-edge projects that bridge the artificial intelligence (AI) and user experience design (UX) fields and have a positive cultural or social impact in our communities.
Join us to learn more about projects that bridge AI and UX to and celebrate the students' achievements! The showcase event will open with a keynote speaker, followed by team presentations and Q&A session.
The Bridging AI & UX Grant is made possible by generous donations from Bold Insight and Leap of Faith Technologies.
Showcased Projects
Three teams were awarded the grant through a competitive process.
The Tweet and Sour project team designed a browser extension that utilizes sentiment analysis to identify if tweets are unifying or divisive in nature, thereby helping users to better understand the tweets with which they interact. Team members: Chip Davis, Emma Ludman, Johnathan Michalak, Dhinesh Raj. Faculty Advisor: Peter Hastings.
The AVAI team focused on safety communication between drivers, autonomous vehicles, and pedestrians with the goal of boosting trust around autonomous vehicle integration within communities. Team members: Victoria K. Lopez, Daniel Mitev, Peace Nguyen. Faculty Advisor: Ilyas Ustun.
The team The More You Know Travel built a website and app that aims to personalize travel logistics based on the user’s experience, disabilities, and preferences. Team members: Lin Wan, Lillian Neubel, Haoyu Lu, Hana Tesfaye. Faculty Advisor: Paige Treebridge.
