BUILD Session: Just DePaul: Personal, Institutional, Social & Environmental Justice

All faculty and staff are welcome to attend this BUILD workshop taking place on May 4, 2021, from 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m.

This workshop explores the basic levels of justice beginning with our own lives, daily relationships, and past experiences of justice and injustice. Employing the "Just DePaul" framework, we will also reflect on DePaul's culture through a justice lens and seek to find our own areas of responsibility and influence to continue to build a culture at DePaul, in which the dignity of all is upheld. Finally, we will apply a Vincentian lens to reflect on the most challenging "signs of the times" from the past year. These will include a consideration of the issues that have been revealed by the pandemic, the spotlight on racial injustice and polarized political tensions. Through this inductive approach, you will be invited to reflect upon what working at a mission-based institution means for you and what opportunities this may present to create a more just world and Just DePaul.
