Rooted in Bantu traditions and carried to Brazil by enslaved
Africans, the Capoeira Angola “dance-fight” burgeoned out of the struggle for liberation during the Portuguese colonization.
Today, Capoeira Angola continues to be a tool for resistance and empowerment.
This event is free and open to the public. Wear comfortable clothes and get ready to sweat!
