DESCRIPTION:Celebrating the Start of the Academic Year\n\nTo welcome back o
 ur community and to kick off the 2021-22 academic year\, the university wi
 ll host Academic Convocation and a Welcome Back Celebration for all facult
 y and staff on Thursday\, September 2.   \n\nConvocation\n\nFaculty and st
 aff are cordially invited to attend Academic Convocation on Thursday\, Sep
 tember 2 at St. Vincent de Paul Church\, 1010 W. Webster Avenue on the Lin
 coln Park Campus. The ceremony will begin at 10:30 am. \n\nMembers of the 
 faculty and staff are invited and encouraged to dress in academic regalia 
 and to participate in the academic procession from the Quad to the Church.
  The deadline to reserve regalia is Friday\, July 30. All orders for acade
 mic regalia must be submitted by this date\; no orders will be accepted af
 ter July 30 at 5 pm.\n\nRegalia distribution will take place on the Quad o
 n September 2 between 9:00 – 10:00 am\, with the procession to the Churc
 h beginning at approximately 10:15 am. If you are planning to attend but a
 re not participating in the procession\, please plan to arrive at the Chur
 ch by 10:15 am to find a seat.\n\nWelcome Back Celebration\n\nJoin us for 
 music\, fun\, games and food at the Welcome Back Celebration hosted on the
  Quad. The Welcome Back Celebration will be held immediately after Convoca
 tion from noon - 3 pm.\n\nOffices that support students or vital campus se
 rvices should make plans for staffing during the event. Vice presidents\, 
 deans and directors will determine which departments must remain open and 
 coordinate hours and staffing as necessary.\n\nThis event is open to DePau
 l faculty & staff only.  All participants must provide a valid ID to atten
 d.  \n\nFaculty and staff do not have to attend Convocation to participate
  in the Welcome Back Celebration.\n\nRegistration\n\nTo ensure the safety 
 of our community and to help plan for seating in the Church\, faculty and 
 staff must RSVP to attend Convocation and the Welcome Back Celebration. Fu
 lly vaccinated individuals are highly encouraged to wear a mask in the Chu
 rch.  Individuals who have not been vaccinated are expected to wear a mask
  at all times. To allow for physical distancing\, registration for Convoca
 tion will be capped at 550 and is on a first come\, first served basis. Th
 ere are no capacity limits for the outdoor Welcome Back Celebration.\n\nCl
