All College of Law community members (students, staff, faculty, alumni, and friends of the COL) are invited to join the Pro Bono & Community Service Initiative (PBCSI), the Black Law Students Association (BLSA) and the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Community Building Committee for the first Donate-A-Day of 2026 with Stone Temple Missionary Baptist Church, and the GROWSS committee of the North Lawndale Community Coordinating Council’s Soup for the Soul program on Monday, January 19th in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day! Soup for the Soul is a mutual aid program launched in late 2020 to help Lawndale families experiencing food insecurity.

Family members and friends are invited to join as well! There is no age requirement for volunteers.

College of Law Volunteers can participate in a full or partial day of service activities:

9:00am-12:00pm: Part 1: Help with breakfast for the community and Soup for the Soup Clients and other activities (gardening, cleaning, painting, organizing donations).

9:30am-10:30am: Commemoration Event of Dr. King Jr. (all volunteers are encouraged to attend).

10:30am-12:00pm: Volunteers will continue to help with various activities (gardening, cleaning, organizing donations).

12:00pm-3:00pm: Part 2: Soup for the Soul preparation and distribution and continuing volunteer activities.

All Activities Will Take Place at Stone Temple Baptist Church: 3622 W Douglas Blvd, Chicago, IL 60623

Lunch of Soup and Sandwiches will be provided.

Volunteers: Please Register HERE by Friday, January 16th by 11:00am. Volunteers can register for the whole day or part of the day.

We ask that you be dressed for outside work and things like painting, organizing, etc. All materials, including masks and gloves, will be provided by PBCSI and Stone Temple.
