Please join us for a film screening and director Q&A of Carving the Divine. The film documents the 1,400-year-old artistic tradition of Busshi—Buddhist woodcarvers—through Master Koun Seki's atelier. The documentary offers a unique look into Shingon Buddhist rituals and explores the craft's importance following the Tohoku Tsunami. Selected by 30 film festivals across 22 countries, Carving the Divine has won 13 awards, including Best Director at World Cinema Milan, and premiered at London's Raindance Film Festival.
