Lisa Acevedo is a Shareholder at Polsinelli and Chair of the firm’s HIPAA and Health Information Privacy and Security team. She brings nearly two decades of deep experience in the areas of federal health privacy laws, including HIPAA and the Confidentiality of Substance Use Disorder Patient Records Regulation, as well as state laws governing the confidentiality of health information. She also advises multi-national health care companies with international data protection laws that impact their use and transfer of personal data, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Lisa graduated with honors from DePaul University College of Law in 1995. She has been selected for inclusion in Best Lawyers in America® for Health Care Law, 2018, and Illinois Super Lawyers for Health Care, 2013-2014. She was selected as one of the “Most Influential Minority Lawyers in Chicago” by Crain’s Custom Media, and as one of the "Top Women Attorneys in Health Care Law in Illinois" by Chicago Magazine, 2013, as well as recognized as one of the "Top 100 Under 50 Diverse Executive Leader" by Diversity MBA Magazine, 2012.
