DePaul Opera Theatre: Suor Angelica and Gianni Schicchi

Harry Silverstein, director

DePaul Opera Theatre presents a unique opportunity to see two works by one of the masters of Italian opera. Puccini’s Suor Angelica is the heart-rending story of a fragile young nun and contains some of the composer’s most beautiful melodies including Angelica’s lament Senza Mamma. Gianni Schicchi, a delightful farce and hailed as a comedic masterpiece since its premiere, features one of the most beloved arias in the operatic repertoire O mio babbino caro.
