The DePaul Opera Theatre presents Dark Sisters by Nico Muhly (composer) and Stephen Karam (librettist). Based on true events, Dark Sisters explores the desires and dangers of women in a polygamous sect grappling with faith, family, and freedom as their hidden world is shaken by outside forces. Who will dare to leave, and at what cost? Folksongs, hymns, and the landscape of southern Utah inspire Nico Muhly's lyrical score.
The production is directed by Amy Hutchison, with guest conductor Emanuele Andrizzi under the program direction of Nicholas Hutchinson.
