The DePaul Opera Theatre presents Street Scene by Kurt Weill (composer) and Langston Hughes (librettist). Street Scene charts the paths of individuals heroically trying to connect in an urban world that is exhausting and in which one has no privacy. The opera shows us that we are collectively responsible for the lives and well-being of those in our own tight-knit communities, whether we succeed or fail.
The production is directed by George Cederquist, with guest conductor Catherine O'Shaughnessy.
