The Working Group for an ASEAN Human Rights Mechanism
Learn about the significance of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Get to know the efforts for establishing a regional human rights mechanism in Southeast Asia, through the work of a coalition of member states from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The Working Group for an ASEAN Human Rights Mechanism is the only human rights organization listed in the ASEAN Charter.

SPEAKER: Mr. Ray Paolo Santiago is the Secretary-General of the Working Group for an ASEAN Human Rights Mechanism, a recognized entity in the ASEAN Charter. Mr. Santiago is also the Executive Director of the Ateneo Human Rights Center and Professor of Law at the Ateneo Law School in the Philippines. He was a recipient of the Freedom Flame Award of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation (2014) and the inaugural ASEAN Peoples Award (2015). http://ateneo.edu/aps/law/law/faculty/test-1
