This presentation explores how Albania has built a modern geospatial infrastructure as part of its journey toward European Union integration.

Highlighting the mission and work of the State Authority for Geospatial Information (ASIG), the talk will provide insight into the implementation of the EU Inspire Directive, the creation of national spatial data infrastructure and the historical and geographic context that shapes Albanian's land governance.

Through maps, data and institutional insight, the session will offer a look into howa small Balkan country is using GIS to navigate its past and plan its future.
