In this 2-session workshop, technology professionals learn about the fundamental ideas of leadership within an Information Technology organization, and how to apply these ideas to real-world situations. While there are a lot of courses related to leadership, the IT environment presents unique challenges to those who have risen through the ranks of an IT organization. Participants learn the difference between management and leadership and the discussion topics include motivation, effective communications, relationship building and adjusting leadership approaches to different situations. Several leadership styles and approaches will be studied, and instructor-led group activities will assist the participants in learning how to improve their leadership approaches.
The two sessions will be held one week apart, on consecutive Tuesday evenings, November 12th and November 19th, so that participants can share feedback on how the ideas can be applied to their unique situation and organization.
