 ::::::::::::::::::::\n\nJoin Amirah Orozco\, a theology doctoral student a
 t Notre Dame\, for the final talk in this year's "Catolicismo\, Cultura y
 Comida" series\, organized by CWCIT and Tepeyac/Catholic Campus Ministry.
 Orozco offers us a look at some of the history of the organization of Lati
 na Catholic women known as Las Hermanas and their importance for Latine Ca
 tholics today.\n\nLas Hermanas organized in the wake of the Second Vatican
  Council in light of the simultaneous Chicano Movement in the U.S.\, forti
 fying an identity as Latinas\, Catholics\, and feminists. The women took s
 eriously their roles as baptized Catholics to advocate for the voices of L
 atine people to be heard\, both in and outside of the Church.\n\nToday\, t
 hey can help us begin to imagine what our roles are in the ongoing politic
 al and social struggles for justice. In this talk\, you'll be invited to a
 sk questions about the connections between faith and justice as well as th
 e role of justice in how we organize our churches and faith communities.\n
