Laser Cutter Workshop


Lasers are rad and so is this workshop!

Participants will learn:

  • Proper safety operations

  • Software set up

  • Different degrees of laser burning, etching, and cutting

This workshop provides all materials and a sample project. We will also give you a copy of basic laser cutting instructions to take home.

Completion of this workshop will result in your authorized use of the laser cutters at the IRL. YOU MUST BE AUTHORIZED IN ORDER TO USE THE LASER CUTTERS (so make sure to come to this workshop). Please try to arrive no later than 15 minutes after the event starts.

This workshop is free and open to all currently enrolled DePaul University students/staff/faculty. We do not accept those who are not DePaul affiliated.

Participants will be required to sign a liability waiver prior to machine use. Walk-in's will be accepted for no-show spots.

Participants seeking disability-related accommodations are invited to contact before the workshop so we may have the proper assistance and accommodations prepared.
