About this Event
We are pleased to announce Meet the Firms Fall 2023! Meet the Firms is DePaul’s signature career fair for opportunities in accounting, including positions in auditing, tax, advisory, consulting, and more.
Meet the Firms takes place over two days: Tuesday, Sept. 19, 1-4pm, and Wednesday, Sept. 20, 1-4pm on each day, at the DePaul Center, lower level. This registration is for Day 2 Wednesday. For Day 1 Tuesday registration, please click here. Different employers are visiting on each day; we encourage you to attend both days.
Meet the Firms is an opportunity for students of all levels to talk one-on-one with professionals and recruiters at various firms and companies in the Chicagoland area. We are hosting 25 firms each day. Tables will be spread out with room for students and employers to walk around and connect. Students are expected to be prepared with a resume and professional attire.
Preparing for Meet the Firms
Dress in professional attire. Firms expect a professional presentation with at least business casual attire. For help, search online for tips on professional attire, or visit the Career Center’s Career Closet for clothing you can use.
Bring your resume. Print 20 copies of your current resume. Visit the Career Center or ask experienced peers for advice on resumes.
Research employers. Learn about who is coming by visiting their website, looking them up on social media, and bringing a few questions about each one.
Bring a notepad. Takes notes and write down questions as you have conversation. This shows employers you’re engaged, and you can follow up by collecting their emails.
Practice conversation. Practice your short, personal introduction including your background, interests, and professional goals.
The School of Accountancy & MIS will host Meet the Firms Prep Sessions in September on networking, conversation skills, and resumes.
We look forward to seeing you at Meet the Firms!
