 istianity’s arrival in China\, many in both the East and West have explo
 red how Chinese culture is compatible with the Gospel. As a Chinese schola
 r educated in both China and Italy\, Chiaretto Yan dreams of a new basis f
 or encounter and dialogue\, respectful of both Church teaching and China
 ’s ancient wisdom.\n\nIn My Chinese Dream\, he draws on the Bible as wel
 l as Confucianism\, Buddhism\, and Daoism to examine how Christianity’s 
 culture of unity and the Chinese culture of harmony overlap. And he extend
 s this Christian-Chinese dialogue to practical issues like integral ecolog
 y\, religious freedom\, and social justice.\n\nAbout the Author\nChiaretto
  Yan (甄健湘) lives in Shanghai and is a visiting professor at the Univ
 ersity of Saint Joseph Macau\, the National Seminary of China in Beijing\,
  and various seminaries in China. Published by Orbis in 2025\, his latest 
 book\, My Chinese Dream\, received an Honorable Mention in the Ecumenism/I
 nterfaith Category at the June 2026 Catholic Media Association Book Awards
 .\n\nChiaretto holds an MA in oriental religions and cultures from the Uni
 versity of Santo Tomas (Manila)\, a PhD in practical theology from the Pon
 tifical Gregorian University (Rome)\, and a second PhD in interdisciplinar
 y studies from the Sophia University Institute (Florence). He is a consecr
 ated member of the Focolare Movement\, an international Christian lay orga
 nization. One of his past accomplishments was serving as coordinator of th
 e Holy See Pavilion at the Beijing Expo 2019 on horticulture.\n\nOur Cospo
 nsor\nCWCIT thanks the U.S. China Catholic Association (USCCA) for its ass
 istance as our cosponsor of this event. Inspired by the Gospel\, the USCCA
 's mission is to build bridges of friendship and dialogue between people o
