Since Christianity’s arrival in China, many in both the East and West have explored how Chinese culture is compatible with the Gospel. As a Chinese scholar educated in both China and Italy, Chiaretto Yan dreams of a new basis for encounter and dialogue, respectful of both Church teaching and China’s ancient wisdom.

In My Chinese Dream, he draws on the Bible as well as Confucianism, Buddhism, and Daoism to examine how Christianity’s culture of unity and the Chinese culture of harmony overlap. And he extends this Christian-Chinese dialogue to practical issues like integral ecology, religious freedom, and social justice.
