About this Event
Armour Academic Center, 600 S. Paulina Street
Monthly talk of the Center for Community Health Equity.
Dr Maria Ferrera (DePaul) and Dr Dana Rush (UIC)
Given the urgencies of the post-election context, there has been an increasing need to utilize and streamline existing efforts and resources to address the immediate mental health needs of the immigrant community. Dr. Rusch and Dr. Ferrera will discuss how this has been done through the building of CIMH – The Coalition for Immigrant Mental Health. With over 300 volunteer members, CIMH has come to identify itself as a collaborative, community based and research informed initiative that is a partnership between individuals regardless of immigrant status, mental health practitioners, community organizers, researchers, and allies.
