http://go.depaul.edu/musiceventsPicosa's upcoming program Between Blue centers the work of Marco-Adrián Ramos, winner of the Cross Country Chamber Consortium Competition (CCCC). CCCC includes chamber ensembles from across the country, Atlanta Chamber Players (Atlanta), Ensemble New SRQ (Sarasota), Musiqa (Houston), SOLI Chamber Ensemble (San Antonio), and Picosa (Chicago), who present an annual competition for Black, Latinx, and Indigenous emerging composers and collectively premiere the new commission in concert. We're thrilled to give the midwest premiere of entre azul y buenas noches for our Chicago audiences! Other works on the program explore images of blue thematically including Liguria, inspired by Elizabeth Brown's travels to the Liguria Coast in Italy, as well as Shawn Okpebholo's poignant Fractured Water. Rounding out the program are two classic trios by Robert Schumann and Robert Muczynski.
