Jonathan Bailey Holland's "Between Days" opens the program with an evocative piece for alto flute, clarinet, cello, and piano. This work explores the interplay of timbres and textures, creating a reflective atmosphere. Shulamit Ran's Private Game follows, a duet for clarinet and cello that delves into the nuances of dialogue between the two instruments, highlighting their contrasting yet complementary voices. Robert Martin's Night Time envelopes listeners in a soundscape that captures the essence of nighttime, with its mysteries and quietude. Gabriel Fauré's Piano Trio in D minor, Op. 120 adds a touch of classical elegance.
