🔥 POESÍA EN ABRIL 2025 IS HERE — AND IT’S UNMISSABLE! 🔥

Get ready, Chicago! DePaul University, in powerful collaboration with Instituto Cervantes of Chicago, The Poetry Foundation, The National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts and Culture, and Citlalin Art Gallery, proudly presents the explosive XVII edition of the most important Spanish-language poetry festival in the Midwest: POESĂŤA EN ABRIL 2025!

The 2025 theme, "AMANECERES" [DAWNS], is a powerful call to hope, rebirth, and transformation, inviting us to find connection and renewal through the power of poetry.

  • This year, the festival ignites the city with a dazzling lineup of poets from Latin America, Spain, and the vibrant Latinx communities of Chicago — uniting voices across continents for a celebration of language, resistance, and art.
  • Don’t miss the reveal of the winner of the coveted VI Juana Goergen Poetry Award, plus a full lineup of electrifying poetry readings, dynamic literary dialogues, and immersive community workshops.

In addition to the stellar programming, this year features the spectacular release of the festival’s first-ever anthology, also titled AMANECERES. This beautiful edition gathers the work of every poet who has participated in the festival between 2020/2021 and 2025. The anthology will be unveiled at the opening night and throughout the festival.
