Design, landscape, and society will introduce students to the unique relationships among Scandinavian society, landscape, and culture with a focus on how they have affected the development of modern design in Scandinavia and throughout the world. The program will travel through Norway and Sweden lodging in the capital cities of Oslo and Stockholm. Students will be visiting sites of cultural and historical significance, museums, and sites of architectural importance. Most importantly they will be visiting design studios throughout the trip to talk with working professionals about the impact that the particular Scandinavian context has had on their design process.
