School of Design Talks: LEGO’s Tara Wike

LEGO’s Tara Wike: Stacking Up—Designing for the builders of tomorrow

Tara will discuss how she went from MIT designing large-scale architectural projects to rural Denmark designing tiny accessories for LEGO minifigures, and how that journey brought her to champion a brand that develops a product well-known for inspiring kids to embrace their creativity.

TARA WIKE, DESIGNER MANAGER AT LEGO
Tara has devoted her 20 year career to championing good design, from starting out at a 3-person architectural visualization firm working directly with clients on more than 300 projects, to working her way up through the ranks from element designer to design manager at the world’s top toy company. Collaborating with colleagues from all over the world and across the company, she promotes quality design to defend the LEGO brand, recently voted by Forbes as the world’s most powerful brand. Tara attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology School of Architecture and Planning.

Talks are free and open to the public.
