The DePaul Humanities Center invites you to a special event hosted in collaboration with DHC Executive Committee member Zack Ostrowski (The Art School at DePaul) and the DePaul Art Museum (DPAM) on Thursday, May 29, 2025, from 5:00–7:00 PM at DPAM (935 W. Fullerton Ave, Chicago).

Join us for “Slow Revolution”—an evening exploring the lasting impact of legendary Houston DJ and sonic pioneer DJ Screw.

Lance Scott Walker, author of DJ Screw: A Life in Slow Revolution, will be in conversation with acclaimed music critic Jessica Hopper, author of The First Collection of Criticism by a Living Female Rock Critic, as they reflect on DJ Screw’s revolutionary “chopped and screwed” mixing technique, his cultural legacy, and the transformative power of sound.

This event is free and open to the public.  Register for free here: https://events.humanitix.com/lance-scott-walker-in-conversation-with-jessica-hopper
