Sounds of the City: A Symposium on Music Making in Chicago’s Neighborhoods

If Chicago is a global city, what are the city's global sounds? How do the city's diverse neighborhood contribute to Chicago's identity as a global city? How do factors such as community institutions, gentrification, migration and public policy shape these neighborhood music scenes? Join city leaders, community members, ethnographers and performers for discussions, round tables and performances that will invite us to listen more carefully to the sound of Chicago's neighborhoods.
