“I Am A Comedian” follows Daisuke Muramoto, a Japanese comedian whose celebrated success quickly dwindled after his comedy took a decisive turn for the political. This film raises questions about freedom of speech, the entertainment industry, and using humor to confront injustices while navigating criticism and personal struggles. Following the screening, we will host an in-person Q&A with Daisuke Muramoto and the director of the film, Fumiari Hyuga.
Tickets are FREE for DePaul students and $5 for DePaul faculty and staff. These tickets can only be reserved in-person at the Gene Siskel Film Center box office, but can be reserved at any time. A limited number of these free and discount seats are reserved only for DePaul, SAIC, and UChicago, and only until a few days before the event, so don’t hesitate to reserve your free ticket!
The Gene Siskel Film Center is located in the Loop at 164 N. State Street. The box office opens 30 minutes before the first show of each day. See more details about the event here: https://www.siskelfilmcenter.org/i-am-comedian
