Anxiety Toolkit: This is a small in-person group psychoeducation and support group of approximately 8-10 active group members. This group will work to promote insight into student’s unique experience of distress, the factors which contribute to it, and generating ideas for the change that students want to achieve and the path to help get there. Group members will learn about the factors that contribute to anxiety, distress, and the adaptive ways that they can and already do respond to these feelings through practice, discussion and support. 

Topics covered will include awareness, insight, and openness/flexibility in regards to recognizes one’s own experience of stress/anxiety and ways in which they themselves might be able to change or manage these feelings. Self-compassion, internal and external locus of control, flexibility, non-judgmental acceptance will be discussed through activities like journaling, brief activities, self-reflection, discussion and support.
