The Criminalization of Our Neighbors, the Chicago Police: Burge, Domestic Torture, & Justice

This event is a part of the 2017-2018 University Diversity Series.

Please join us for a panel presentation on domestic torture in Chicago. Partnered with the Chicago Torture Justice Center, we will explore Jon Burge and the Chicago Police Department torture scandal through a victim’s lens. Focusing on the perspectives of those most affected by Jon Burge and his cohort’s tactics, practices and policies; the goal of this event is to bring awareness to the reality of domestic torture and spark conversations amongst the community about how we can assist in reform and the restorative justice process.

This event is free and open to the general public. We ask that those who wish to attend RSVP as seating is limited.
